B.Braun Medical and ICU Medical, two leaders in infusion therapy, receive 2021 Best in KLAS honors acknowledging excellence for their product, software and service.
Traditional Smart Pump
B. Braun Medical’s InfusoMAT Space infusion pump received the Best in KLAS award in the Traditional Smart Pumps category. Over the past 15 years, the device had the fewest number of FDA recalls, zero critical ECRI events and lowest rate of manufacturer and user facility device experience complaints.
The pumps combined with B. Braun’s DoseGuard Software allow facilities to reduce their capital inventory spending immediately by $1 million by improving IV pump utilization. Sixteen devices can be stacked and connected to one power supply because of the horizontal design. They are the only devices to ensure continuity of care wherever the pump is used, including the MRI suite.

Smart Pump EMR-Integrated
CU Medical’s Plum 360 is KLAS Research’s first recipient for Best in KLAS for Smart Pump EMR-Integrated. The device is closely aligned with the latest industry guidelines published by the Institute of Sage Medication Practices and received the first UL Cybersecurity Assurance Program (UL CAP) certification. The Plum 360 and ICU Medical MedNet Safety Software allows bi-directional interoperability with the EMR and gives customers more influence over their medication delivery practices.
This is the fourth year in a row the PLUM 360 has received Best in KLAS honors. Previously, the device was named the top performing IV smart pump in the Software & Services category. The corporate vice president and general manager of ICU Medical Infusion Systems said receiving honors four years in a row demonstrates how the Plum 360 leads the industry in innovation and customer satisfaction.
