In a press release on April 25, 2019, Henry Schein Medical and MindChild Medical, Inc. announced the signing of an exclusive distribution and supply agreement for the MERIDIAN™ M110 Fetal Monitoring System.
The MERIDIAN™ M110 is an intrapartum fetal monitor intended for use by health professionals in a clinical setting, such as a Labor and Delivery Department or birthing center, on women who are 37 weeks or greater into their pregnancy and in labor. Electrodes on the surface of the mother’s abdomen simultaneously measure fetal heart rate (FHR), maternal heart rate (MHR) and uterine contractions (UA).
Vital signals are sent from maternal and fetal electrocardiogram (ECG) and uterine contractions to existing fetal monitors. MindChild Medical, Inc. received clearance of its 510(k) Pre-Marketing Notification Application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the MERIDIAN™ M110 Line of Non-Invasive Fetal Heart Rate Monitors in 2017.
William Edelman, Chief Executive Officer of MindChild says they are thrilled to enter into this agreement with one of the most well-known distributors of medical devices and leading solutions companies for health professionals in the U.S. MindChild will continue to build on this technology and to improve the safety of obstetrics and provide a new diagnostic device for obstetricians and pediatric cardiologists. The MERIDIAN™ M110 is expected to provide insight into fetal management that is not currently available.
Executives at Henry Schein believe that the MERIDIAN™ M110 will provide excellent care for millions of women and children because of its unique ability to monitor maternal and fetal heart rates at the same time. The fetal monitoring system fits well with the Henry Schein’s commitment to provide the finest solutions customers can rely on to deliver critical patient care. Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. Medical business of Henry Schein, Inc., will distribute the monitor to its obstetrician and pediatric cardiologist customers in the U.S.
