EQ2 LLC’s HEMS Software Concludes Interconnectivity Testing

February 09, 2015

EQ2 LLC, a Computerized Maintenance and Management System (CMMMS) software provider, has announced the successful completion of its HEMS software interconnectivity testing. The software was subjected to a five day real-time integration and interoperability assessment at the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Connectathon in Cleveland.

The HEMS Enterprise Software is a comprehensive management system that allows multi-hospital organizations to track the work and equipment management within a facility’s various departments.

"It's now within reach for a multi-hospital organization to instantly know where their medical devices are, whether the device is attached to a patient, is in an alarm state, whether it requires a critical update or is under a pending safety alert, how often it is used and what it costs to support it." says EQ2 President, Jim Smith.

"Along with the FDA's new federal UDI (Unique Device Identification) Law, the IHE Standards will enable healthcare to align disparate devices and systems into an efficient, safe and effective patient care delivery system. No more bunkered devices and systems - interoperability and standard messaging will rule." he adds.

The IHE Connectathon event provides an avenue for vendors and healthcare information system users to test the interoperability of health IT systems for compliance with IHE workflows between devices and software from other vendors. The tests are monitored by impartial representatives from organizations such as AAMI, ACCE, and NIST to name a few.

During the Connectathon, EQ2’s HEMS Software was able to connect to and test with smart products from 15 medical equipment vendors such as B.Braun, Smith Medical, Hospira, and Benoulli Cariopulmonary Corp.
