PeriGenrecently announced that Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa has adopted PeriGen’sPeriCALM ®fetal surveillance solution for their Labor & Delivery units. The solution suite was combined with the medical center’s OB/GYN module of their electronic health record, Epic Stork.  It includes two clinical decision support and fetal monitoring tools namely, PeriCALM Patterns ™and PeriCALM Curve ™.

PeriCALM Patterns ™ makes use of algorithms to help clinicians interpret fetal strips. It is vital in the collaborative bedside care given by medical staff as the tool provides consistent and objective assessment of data.

PeriCALM Curve ™ makes a comparison between the progress of a laboring mother in real-time and a reference population. Through this process, the dynamic labor progression software aids in the diagnosis of abnormal or difficult childbirth.

Fetal care systems are constantly improving over the years, allowing both clinicians and mothers easier ways to provide babies with the best care.
