Imago Prints provides services utilizing ultrasound applications to provide a unique 3D experience. This new technology enables creation of tangible 3D prints of a fetus during the course of the pregnancy.

The system uses facets of a patient's pregnancy ultrasound to produce a 3D print of an infant in its developmental stages. The 3- dimensional models are physical, tangible prints which patients can hold or even frame to display in their homes.

Imago Prints is a division of the Michigan-based company Engineering 4 Life.  The creative mind and engineer behind Engineering 4 Life, Salvatore Vilardi, explored the possibilities of expanding their services into another market niche. Vilardi realized that the same technology used in creating patient specific models and guides used to aid pre-surgical planning and modeling could be repurposed. He initiated the use of the technology for a completely different, yet equally important purpose: Facets of the pregnant patient’s ultrasound were used to create a 3D print of a infant in its development. Vilardi and his wife Alexis are set on offering this advanced technology to three markets across the U.S.  The couple is interested to build partnerships with clinics that readily provide patients with ultrasound and sonogram services.  They are also interested in servicing practitioners wanting to deliver a one-of-a-kind, multi-faceted product, as a supplement to the widely accepted 3D ultrasound images that patients have access to today.

Vilardi says, “We desire to provide a service that allows the clinics we partner with to take an ultrasound and make a 3d print, a physical product you can hold. We want to give parents something tangible to celebrate the moments of pregnancy and for those who are struggling to make a choice to give their unborn child life, a reason to choose life."

To be able to implement this new technology, hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities are encouraged to use only high-quality equipment.
