CMIA Held Annual Statewide Conference and Exhibitor Expo
The California Medical Instrumentation Association (CMIA) held a Statewide Conference and Exhibitor Expo with the theme, “CMIA, Positioning and Educating Health Care Technology Management and IT for the Future”. The conference focused on the promotion and exchange of information in the biomedical engineering community.
The conference was held on January 10 – 13, 2013 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Sacramento and co-sponsored by 24 x 7 magazine. The CMIA Annual event was free for all biomedical professionals and people interested in the field.

MSCE Holds December Meeting
The Michigan Society for Clinical Engineering (MSCE) held its meeting on December 12 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Canton, MI. The meeting featured a discussion about Tracelogix.

KCBS Elects New Officers
The Kansas City Biomedical Society (KCBS) announced their officers for 2013 were elected at their December 2012 meeting.
Dan Demaria, Olathe Health Center was elected President, Chris Hawkins, University of Kansas Hospital, Vice-President, Harold Golden, Children's Mercy Hospital, Treasurer, Chris Coleman, University of Kansas Hospital, Secretary and Robin Faut, Olathe Health Center, Education. Gabe Jamison, Brown's Medical Imaging has been appointed Publication Officer and will assume responsibility for their web page.

CABMET Conducts Project Cure “Family” Event
The Colorado Association of Biomedical Equipment Technician (CABMET) hosted its Project Cure “Family” Event on December 6. Volunteers helped sort, inspect and organize medical devices at Project Cure’s warehouse.

New Healthcare Technology Organization Holds Inaugural Meeting
The newly formed Nevada Healthcare Technology Association (NHTA) held its inaugural meeting on January 24, 2013 at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV.
The meeting consisted of technical presentations and discussions on best practices, healthcare challenges to HTM, certification and other subject matter that HTM professionals deal with on a daily basis.

Pre-Show Planner Scheduled for Spring MD Expo
In preparation for this April’s MD Expo in Washington, D.C. the Baltimore Medical Engineers and Technicians Society (BMETS) will be holding a pre-show planner as part of their February meeting. Local Biomeds are encouraged to attend to learn more about the upcoming Expo.
