MedWest-Harris hospital, in Sylva, NC, recently added two new fetal monitoring systems to their labor and delivery unit. The new systems will be used to improve the care and service provided for the facility’s expectant patient and their babies.
The labor and delivery unit’s previous system was replaced with a high-tech system for fetal monitoring. The new system allows physicians to log in from any computer to monitor both the mother’s and baby’s status during labor. Physicians can quickly view changes in data related to their patients which helps them save time and work more efficiently.
The hospital nursing staff has undergone training in preparation to use the new system. “This fetal monitoring system is an incredible advancement for our hospital. Now we will be able to make sure a fetus is stable from any location with Internet capability,” said Dr. Janine Keever, a MedWest-Harris doctor.
New systems that provide up-to-date maternal and fetal status allow clinicians and healthcare facilities to provide proper and efficient patient care. Together with these improvements, clinics and hospitals need top-quality fetal monitoring systems to ensure maternal, perinatal and neonatal patient care and safety.
